Fourth Annual Art All Day Event Set for Nov. 14

Art All Day 2014 2

The debut of Trenton’s first Latino arts space, live painting demos at multiple locations, tours of major new sculptures, urban farm projects and neighborhood revitalization efforts, and the opportunity to encounter new work at art studios and pop-up sites across the city, all await visitors at the fourth annual Art All Day on Saturday, Nov. 14.

Trenton’s free annual open studio tour and creative showcase will run from noon to 5 p.m. The event will feature more than 85 artists of all disciplines and non-profit and business owners, who will  welcome visitors at 25 sites throughout downtown and all the wards of the city. In addition to new work and demos of painting, sculpture and photography, there will be food, film, dance, music and more.

Attendees can stop by Artworks’ Everett Alley headquarters to pick up a free Art All Day map and program, and plan their own itinerary, or they can enjoy an insider’s perspective on guided trolley, bicycle and walking tours led by guides who are active participants in Trenton’s creative revival. Foodtruck fare, hot coffee and other refreshments will be available at Artworks all day.

Art All Day 2014 1Artist demos and other art-making activities will take place throughout the day at Artworks and other Art All Day sites. After the tour, visitors are invited to a free reception at Artworks’ main gallery from 5 to 8p.m., where the “Artists of Art All Day” group show will be hung.

“Trenton is rising, positive change is in the air, and no group is more responsible for this than the artists of this city,” said Art All Day Director and Planet Trenton columnist Lauren Otis. “Too often the focus is on the Trenton of the past, the what-used-to-be. Art All Day offers a taste of the Trenton of the future and a chance to meet the people who are creating that future.”
