Monuments Bike Ride Set for April 16

The Monuments Ride is a  revolutionary bike ride from the Trenton Battle Monument to the Thomas Paine Statue in Bordentown.

The 15-mile leisurely round-trip ride, limited to 35 adults, begins with a brief history of Trenton’s Battle Monument. Along the way, the group will be joined by members of the Abbott Marshlands Stewardship Council and State Park Service to talk about the Abbott Marshlands and D&R Canal Towpath. In Bordentown, a local historian will meet the group at the Thomas Paine Statue.

Meet at the Battle Monument, which is located at the “Five Points” intersection of Pennington Road; Princeton, Brunswick, North Broad and Warren Streets) in Trenton.

The ride will take place on April 16, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pre-registration is required online. The suggested donation is $15. For more information, contact Jay Watson at jwatson@drgreenway.org or (609) 439-3726.

The D&R Greenway Land Trust is working on bridging the trail gap between
Bordentown City and the D&R Canal State Park path at the Battle Monument.
The project also seeks to connect the County’s Tulpehaking Nature Center, Abbott Marshlands and the Lawrence Hopewell Trail to the Circuit network.
