The Fighting Jamesons
Trenton Social will celebrate its fifth anniversary this weekend with a St. Patrick’s Day Parade after-party that featuring the Fighting Jamesons, a nationally known touring band that plays traditional Irish tunes with a modern twist.
The fifth anniversary celebration at Trenton Social will run from noon to 7 p.m. on March 13, after the Trenton St. Patrick’s Day parade. General admission is $18, and premium tickets that includes a hospitality area with food and alcohol are $45.
“The Trenton St. Patrick’s parade is a great day. It’s a big party. There’s a lot of pride in town that day,” said T.C. Nelson, owner of Trenton Social.
Last year, the city of Trenton stopped funding the parade. Nelson is donating $5 from each ticket to the after-parade party to support the parade.
“I hope this is going to be a real shot in the arm for the parade,” Nelson said. “This will be something that will engage a new demographic in the parade experience and bring more people to Trenton.”
He scored the national touring band the Fighting Jamesons for the festivities, and four other well-known area bands will also perform, including Chalk and the Beige Americans. The Fighting Jamesons are scheduled to perform at 4:30 p.m. The other bans will perform earlier in the afternoon.
“They were my top pick and I got lucky,” Nelson said of the Irish rock group. “It’s a fitting way to celebrate our fifth anniversary.”
The party will take place both outside and indoors at Trenton Social, and the outdoor area includes tents and umbrellas in case of rain.
St’ Patrick’s Day merchandise will be for sale, including green t-shirts that say “I ⌘ Trenton.”
Social will also be serving up food and drink specials, including slow-roaster corned beef.
